The IMF's board of directors has reappointed its managing director Kristalina Georgieva "by consensus" to her post for a new five-year term. A new term will begin on Oct. 1.

Following the announcement of her reappointment, Georgieva expressed her deep gratitude for the trust and support of the Fund's Executive Board, which represents our 190 members, and is honored to continue to lead the Fund as Managing Director for a second five-year term.

In recent years, the IMF has helped member countries overcome successive shocks, including pandemics, wars and conflicts, and the cost-of-living crisis.
