China's economic slowdown is expected to continue in the coming years, with the world's second-largest economy last year recording one of the slowest growth rates in decades as the real estate debt crisis continues, geopolitical tensions, and weak global demand.

The IMF expects growth to slow to 3.5 percent by 2028 with headwinds due to weak productivity and an aging population. Uncertainty about the economic outlook is very high. The IMF had previously expected growth this year to be 4.6 percent. This slowdown is mainly caused by the years-long real estate market crisis.
