Egypt's Tourism Revenues Grew By 8 Percent to $13.2 Billion In 2023

Egypt's tourism revenues increased 8 percent in 2023 year-on-year to about $13.2 billion, while the number of tourists arriving in Egypt last year rose 27.4 percent compared to the previous year to 14.91 million. While the average tourist spending was about $ 93 per day with an average stay of 9.5 nights during 2023.

Egypt had expected the number of tourists to increase last year to 15 million, and the number will reach 18 million in 2024. However, recent geopolitical turmoil in the region could derail this year's goal. It also aims to increase tourism sector revenues from an average currently estimated at $12 billion per year to $30 billion annually over the next three years.
