The Qatari Shura Council discussed the draft general budget for the fiscal year 2024, a draft law approving the state's general budget, and those referred to the Council by the government. The Council decided to refer the two projects to the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee to study them and submit its report thereon.
In a meeting last October, the Qatari Cabinet approved the draft state budget for the fiscal year 2024, and referred the total sections and main sectors of the draft general budget and the draft law to the Shura Council.
The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is expected to approve the country’s new general budget, which he will implement as of the beginning of January 2024.
