The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) released its 2023 Global Innovation Index with Switzerland topping the rankings again this year with 67.6 points out of 100, while Sweden came in second place and the United States in third place.
China is now the twelfth most innovative country in the world, rising from 14th in 2020 and 2019 and 17th in 2018.
In the Arab world, the UAE ranked first in the ranking, followed by Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Egypt ranked 86th globally, 11th among low-income countries, and 15th in the Middle East.
