Customs data showed that China did not export any germanium product last month, down from 8.63 metric tons in July.
Germanium exports in July more than doubled what they were in June, as purchases rose ahead of the effective date of restrictions that are part of China's escalating war with the United States and its allies over access to critical strategic technology.
Customs data showed that there were also no exports of gallium products in August, compared to 5.15 tons exported in July.
