The Central Bank of Jordan has recorded slow growth in the flow of remittances from expatriates during the first five months of this year.
Remittances from workers abroad were about $1.4 billion, compared with $1.42 billion a year ago, and in May, alone they grew 2.3 percent year-on-year to $296.8 million. Remittances from expatriates are one of the main sources of foreign reserves, which, according to the latest statistics of the Central Bank, amounted to about $ 17.5 billion.
