Total banking sector assets in Qatar increased by 1 percent month-on-month in March 2023 to QAR 1.881 trillion (down 1.3 percent in 2023).
According to the report, total loans to the banking sector increased by 0.6% compared to the previous month (down 0.1% in 2023). Deposits increased by 1.8% compared to the previous month (-3.2% in 2023) in March 2023. The total loan portfolio increased by 0.6% in March 2023. Domestic private sector loans increased by 0.7% compared to the previous month (0.8% in 2023) in March 2023. The services sector was the main contributor to the private sector loan gains.
