The International Federation for Social Responsibility, awarded the Union of Arab Chambers, represented by its Secretary General, His Excellency Dr. Khaled Hanafi, the "International Excellence Award in the Efforts to Achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals", this was during the events of the International Forum on the Experiences of Arab Leaders in the United Nations and International Bodies in Participating in Supporting Efforts to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, organized by the International Federation for Social Responsibility.
Dr. Khaled Hanafi valued his selection as Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers by the International Federation of Social Responsibility, to receive the award, which is a distinguished gesture and a source of pride and appreciation, which confirms the pioneering role played by the Union of Arab Chambers in this field.
Hanafi noted that "the issue of sustainable development for the advancement of Arab economies has always been at the heart of the vision and objectives of the Union and its member Arab Chambers since its establishment in 1951." Noting that "the activities are not limited to organizing and participating in organizing events, preparing specialized studies, and actively participating in the joint Arab economic work system, rather, it also includes absorbing and enhancing the role of young energies through the program to support entrepreneurship projects for a green transition to an environment resilient to climate change and global changes.”
The Secretary-General stressed “the importance of moving forward in relations towards a more significant strategic intertwining and moving from linear cooperation to multidimensional cooperation, relying on technology and digitalization to promote comprehensive and sustainable economic and social development, especially since there are great potentials and capabilities in the Arab world.”
It is noteworthy that the "International Forum on the Experiences of Arab Leaders in the United Nations and International Bodies in Participating in Supporting Efforts to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals," aimed to highlight the role and efforts of Arab leaders in the United Nations and international bodies in supporting the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and to discuss the challenges facing the Arab region in this field and ways to address them.
