The results of the fifteenth edition of the Statistical Bulletin of Foreign Investment in the Sultanate of Oman showed a remarkable growth in the volume of foreign investment, both direct and indirect.
The results showed an increase in total foreign investments by the end of 2020 by 6 percent, to reach 22 billion and 244 million and 500 thousand Omani riyals, compared to the same period in 2019, which amounted to 20 billion and 983 million and 200 thousand Omani riyals.
The bulletin included detailed data on foreign investment in the Sultanate of Oman by type of investment, such as foreign direct investment, portfolio investments and other foreign investments classified by economic activity and country of origin. In addition to data on Omani investment abroad. The results showed an increase in the volume of foreign direct investment in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of 2020 by 9.2 percent to reach 15 billion and 761 million and 900 thousand Omani riyals, compared to the same period in 2019 when it amounted to 14 billion and 432 million and 100 thousand Omani riyals. It constituted 70.9 percent of the total foreign investment, and foreign investment accounted for 78.2 percent of the GDP 2020, while foreign direct investment constituted 55.4 percent of the GDP.
