Al Mazrouei Discusses Prospects for Economic Cooperation with the US State of Nebraska

A delegation from the US state of Nebraska, headed by the State's Secretary of State Robert Effan, visited the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and met the President of the Federation of Arab Chambers, the President of the Emirates Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the President of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdullah Muhammad Al Mazrouei, in the presence of the President and CEO of the US-Arab National Chamber of Commerce, David Hammoud, and a number of members of the Abu Dhabi Chamber Board of Directors, in addition to Chargé d'Affairs at the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi Sean Murphy, and Director of the Department of Economic Development in Nebraska Anthony Goins.

Al Mazrouei explained that the UAE maintained its lead in the Gulf region, and ranked twenty-second globally in attracting foreign direct investment, according to the World Investment Report issued by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). He called on American companies to expand their operations in the Emirates in general and Abu Dhabi in particular, and to benefit from the advanced infrastructure and new legislative systems that allow foreigners to fully own companies in many commercial sectors.

For his part, Efnan expressed his happiness for his participation in the business meeting that brings together the Abu Dhabi Chamber and the business community in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the trade delegation from Nebraska. Expressing his interest that this meeting achieves its objectives by identifying the investment advantages and available opportunities, stressing the importance of creating promising investment partnerships, especially in the sectors of water management, irrigation, higher education, food and agricultural products and technological technologies.
