Algeria's revenues from hydrocarbon exports increased by 57.3 percent during the period between September 2020 and September 2021, due to the rise in oil prices, which led to a decline in the Algerian trade deficit.

The average oil price during the first nine months of 2021 recorded an increase of 66.6 percent, moving from $41.365 per barrel during the same period of the previous year, to $68.917 per barrel, thus recording the total value of hydrocarbons exports by 57.3%, it rose from $14.868 billion at the end of September 2020 to $23.387 billion at the end of September 2021.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Algeria, Rostam Fadli, stated that "the trade balance deficit moved from $10.504 billion at the end of September 2020 to $1.571 billion in September 2021," he pointed out that "this significant decline is mainly due to the significant increase in merchandise exports, which moved from 16.240 billion dollars at the end of September 2020 to 26.402 billion dollars at the end of September 2021, an increase of 62.3 percent."
