Tourism income in Jordan rose during the month of September of this year by 222.2 million dinars from its level during the same month last year, reaching 284.7 million dinars.
According to the data of the Central Bank, this increase, which was achieved for the sixth time in a row, came as a result of the increase in the number of tourists during the month of September by about 289,000 tourists to reach 319.6 thousand tourists, in light of the improvement in the epidemiological situation and the increase in the number of vaccine recipients in the Kingdom.
Tourism income increased during the third quarter of this year by 39.35 percent to reach, until the end of last September, an amount of 1.207 billion dinars, compared to a decrease of 72.5% during the same period last year, as a result of the increase in the number of tourists during the first three quarters of this year by about 397.5 thousand tourists, or 36.6 percent, to 484.1 thousand tourists, compared to a decline of 73.5 percent during the corresponding period of last year.
Tourism income from non-resident Jordanians accounted for 47.4 percent of the total tourism income, followed by income from Arab countries (except for the Gulf countries) with 25.3 percent of the total number of tourists, and then tourists from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries with 14 percent.
