Saudi Arabia achieves advanced ranks in the Global Entrepreneurship Index

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved the first ranks in the indicators of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Report for the year 2019-2020, where the Kingdom ranked high in a number of essential indicators that measure the progress in strengthening entrepreneurship for governments in 54 countries.

According to the report, Saudi Arabia ranked first in the "Knowing a person who started a new project" index, which indicates positivity in the business environment and the desire to do business, while Saudi Arabia ranked second in the "possessing knowledge and skills to start a business" index, which indicates the positive impact of the programs. Supportive building on the skills of young men and women that qualify them to start their entrepreneurial work. And it ranked third in terms of government policies supporting entrepreneurship, and it ranked third in the index of "job expectations created by entrepreneurship". While it came in sixth place in the “Promising Opportunities for Starting a Business in My Region” indicator, which shows the extent of the great interdependence between the economy and its growth, the creation of opportunities for the start of commercial activity and the ease of doing business, which increases the chances of starting a business.

The Kingdom achieved a rapid rise from the 42nd to 18th place in the "obstacles to entering the local market" index. The Kingdom continued its progress, achieving the tenth place in the world in the index of government regulations and legislation in terms of taxes and bureaucracy, while it rose in 2019 to the 15th position in the index of government entrepreneurship programs. After it was ranked 35 in 2018, while it achieved qualitative progress in the Financial Entrepreneurship Index, it jumped from 45th to 19th place and 17th in the Entrepreneurship Status Index after it was 41st.
