The IMF praises Jordan's actions: protecting lives and the economy

A report issued by the International Monetary Fund revealed that Jordan was one of the countries affected by the Corona pandemic and took serious steps to protect lives and the economy, and this helped open the economy faster than other countries, indicating that the government started implementing broad reforms supported by the fund within a program last March, it was modified taking into account the urgent matters that occurred in the face of the Corona pandemic.

In addition, the trade deficit decreased during the first third of this year, to reach 2.045 billion dinars, compared to 2.775 billion dinars during the same period last year, a decrease of 26.3 percent. According to the monthly general statistics report on foreign trade in Jordan, the value of total exports decreased during the first third of this year by 7.5%, amounting to 1.633 billion dinars compared to the same period last year, which amounted to 1.765 billion dinars. The value of exports declined during the first third of this year by 3.1%, and reached 1.424 billion dinars, compared to 1.469 billion dinars during the same period last year, while the value of re-exports amounted to 208.8 million dinars, a decrease of 29.5% for the same two comparison periods. On the import side, it fell during the first third of this year to 3.678 billion dinars, a decrease of 19% from what it was during the first third of last year.
