UAE is the 1st Arab Country in the World Competitiveness Yearbook

The United Arab Emirates topped the countries of the Middle East and North Africa region in the World Competitiveness Yearbook 2020, issued by the International Competitiveness Center of the International Institute for Administrative Development, which placed the UAE ninth in the world among the most competitive countries in the world. The UAE maintained its position among the ten best competitive countries in the world during the year 2020, ahead of countries such as the United States, Ireland, Finland, Luxembourg, Germany, and the United Kingdom, to be the only Arab country that succeeded in reserving its position within the club of ten major countries in the World Competitiveness Yearbook report, for four consecutive years, since joining the top ten list in 2017.

According to the results of the report, the United Arab Emirates ranked first globally in 23 indicators and sub-themes, while it ranked among the top five globally in 59 indicators, and within the top ten globally in 106 indicators, out of a total of 338 indicators covered by the report this year. It also recorded progress in two axes, namely the economic performance axis, in which it advanced to the fourth position globally, and the infrastructure axis in which it advanced 5 places, while it ranked third globally in the axis of government efficiency and seventh globally in the business efficiency axis.
