The Qatari Trade Balance Surplus Increased by 14.4%

The data of the Qatar Planning and Statistics Authority revealed that the merchandise trade balance of the State of Qatar recorded a surplus of 14.3 billion riyals last December, up by approximately 1.8 billion riyals, or 14.4 percent, compared to November 2019, and lesser about 1.6 billion riyals, or 10%, compared to the same month in 2018.

According to the data of the Planning and Statistics Authority, the total value of Qatari exports (including exports of local origin and re-exports) amounted to about 23.6 billion riyals, a drop of 7.2%, compared to December 2018, and an increase of 6.4%, compared to November 2019.

On the other hand, the value of merchandise imports declined during last December, reaching about 9.3 billion riyals, a decrease of 2.7 percent, compared to the same month in 2018, and this value also decreased by 4.0%, compared to November 2019.
