The United Arab Emirates ranked eighth in the Positivity Index of Nations Index issued by the “Positive Economy Institute” since 2013 in order to measure positive economic indicators in the OECD countries.

The positive countries index measures the quality of life and positive behavior of countries based on criteria that include their level of interest in the future of their generations and their positive impact on the world.

The UAE's advanced ranking in the index came as a result of the quality of life and the positive behavior of the country nationally, regionally and globally, and the UAE's continuous efforts to anticipate the future, keep pace with its variables and anticipate opportunities and challenges in different sectors. In addition to the focus of the state on the future generations and the empowerment and preparation of youth for the future requirements.

The UAE has achieved this distinction as a result of its rapid efforts in the development of the education sector, its initiatives in achieving gender balance in various areas of life and work, the Government's interest in the development and the empowerment of all segments of society and the promotion of the positive interdependence among its members, Declaring 2019 as the Year of Tolerance, as well as it’s world's leading role in supporting the climate change efforts and the development of sustainable energy solutions in the world, and its position as the world’s largest donor of Official Development Assistance.
