The second Egyptian-Libyan Business Forum was held in Alexandria on the 9th of March 2019, during which Mohamad Al Raiid, the Chairman of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture in Libya, called on the Egyptian companies to return to the Libyan market, emphasizing that "Libya is stable, safe and enjoying a normal life," stressing the importance of the return of Egyptian labor force once again to the Libyan market especially that it is a skilled labor force on which Libya depends so much on reconstruction."

Al Raiid said that the Egyptian commodities have been absent from the Libyan markets recently, considering that "the life in Libya is normal, the activity and movement there are very large and some non-Arab countries doubled their imports to Libya and reached during the year 2018 $2 billion, but unfortunately Egypt's imports decreased to 25% Compared to 2013, so we have to start again and we are confident that the owners of the Egyptian companies will return to Libya again where they must be when the reconstruction process starts."

He also pointed out that Libya imports most of its needs from abroad, where the volume of imports reached 12 billion annually and we count that the exports’ volume from the Egyptian side to Libya would exceed the $2 billion."
