The Assistant Secretary General of the Union of Arab Chambers, Mr. Shaheen Ali Shaheen, participated in the UAE-Lebanon Investment Forum, which was hosted in Abu Dhabi, UAE, under the patronage of the UAE Minister of Economy, H.E Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori. The forum was jointly organized and attended by the Ministry of Economy and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ADCCI, in cooperation with the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Lebanese Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture.
The opening ceremony was led by Mohammad Thani Al Rumaithi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, alongside Mohammed Choucair, President of the Federation of Lebanese Chambers, Shehab Dandan, Lebanese Ambassador to the UAE, Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, Humaid bin Salem, Secretary-General of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce, Jamal Al Jarwan, Secretary-General of the UAE International Investors Council (UAEIIC), and was also attended by senior economic leaders and businessmen from both countries.
Mr. Choucair pointed out, "Our meeting today comes in light of the rapid developments witnessed by the Arab world and the whole World, at the economic level and in light of the economic alliances, which calls for taking the necessary steps to increase the level of cooperation and set a clear vision based on practical facts represented by available opportunities of investment that can benefit our two countries and their people."
He added, "We are well aware of the feelings of love, respect, and appreciation between the two countries and their people, but today we are talking about an essential part of our bilateral relations, which concerns common economic interests and how to develop them. Hence, this conference holds many opportunities, projects and promising possibilities of cooperation, that we must work on jointly. And I am confident that this path will be successful, especially that this partnership has proven to be a success over the past years."
