Jordanian Senate Approves Income Tax Bill

The Jordanian Senate approved the draft income tax law, as stated by the House of Representatives. The Senate Finance and Economic Committee approved the draft law passed by the House of Representatives and recommended to the Senate to approve its decision.
The House of Representatives has insisted on its decision on the draft income tax law reformed by the Senate, with the exception of the industrial tax, where the Council approved the decision of the Senate on the tax on the industrial sector, after the government pledged to issue a system of granting tax incentives, except for the pharmaceutical and clothing industry, by 25 percent in 2019, 20 percent in 2020, 15 percent in 2021, 10 percent in 2022 and 5 percent in 2023. For the pharmaceutical and clothing industry, 50 percent for 2019, 30 percent for 2020, 20 percent for 2021, 10 percent for 2022, and 5 percent for 2023.
