Rise in Total Assets of Islamic Banks in Qatar

Total assets of Islamic banks operating in Qatar increased by 1 percent year-on-year to 352.2 billion riyals at the end of the third quarter of this year, while they fell by 0.2 percent on a quarterly basis.
Qatar's public sector deposits in Commercial banks operating in Qatar reached 292.1 billion riyals at the end of September, down 4.5 percent year-on-year and 1.7 percent higher than in August.
According to the quarterly bulletin issued by Qatar Central Bank, deposits in foreign currencies decreased by 8.2 percent year-on-year to 163.2 billion riyals. Savings deposits grew by 7 percent to 101.4 billion riyals and demand deposits fell by 8.5 percent to 27.5 billion riyals by the end of September.
