King of Saudi Arabia Launches 16bn Riyals Worth of Projects

King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, inaugurated more than 600 development projects worth more than 16 billion riyals ($ 4.3 billion) in Valley Palace in Al-Qassim.
Saudi Arabia is launching various projects under the Saudi Vision 2030 and the Economic Transformation Program to reduce oil dependence in the coming years and to build a sustainable economy.
The new projects cover the areas of development, education, services as well as housing. It also included 24 projects for the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources through the Al-Qassim Electricity Department, 240 projects for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, 8 projects for the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, a project of Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, and some educational and training projects.
The “Modon” Oasis project in Al-Qassim, worth 68 million riyals ($18 billion), is one of the most prominent projects, which will provide a suitable environment for Saudi businesswomen leaders in the light industry with international standards.
