Egyptian Tourism Sector Revenues Rise 83.3%

Egypt's Tourism Sector Revenues jumped by 83.3 percent in the first quarter of this year, according to indicators announced by Reuters recently, recording about 2.2 billion dollars, in line with the increase of the number of tourists to Egypt to about 2.383 million tourists, showing an increase of about 37.1 percent.

As the Egyptian tourism sector recovered in the first quarter of this year, the gradual return of the Russian tourists to the Egyptian tourist destinations, which in turn opened doors of other tourist markets such as the German, Italian and Arab markets to push the expectations towards making Egypt achieve its target numbers this year through attracting about 10 million Tourist and about $ 8 billion as tourist revenues.

The 2017 indicators showed a jump in tourism revenues by 123.5%, recording about $ 7.6 billion thus the contribution of the sector to Egypt's GDP reached about 15% during the second quarter of the current fiscal year.
