The Swiss government raised its economic growth forecast for 2026, expecting that an agreement to reduce U.S. tariffs on its product imports will ease the impact of trade barriers on Swiss exporters. Switzerland had reached a preliminary agreement with Washington in November to reduce U.S. tariffs from 39 percent to 15 percent.

The government now expects growth of 1.1 percent in 2026, up from the 0.9 percent forecast in October. However, this remains below the projected growth rate for 2025 of 1.4 percent, with Swiss economic growth expected to accelerate to 1.7 percent by 2027.
