The Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, Admiral Osama Rabie, revealed that an agreement was signed with the global shipping company Maersk, providing for the full return of the company’s fleet to transit through the canal once again, after more than two years of disruptions that diverted maritime traffic away from the Red Sea route.

He noted that advanced discussions are underway with other global shipping companies to return to the Suez Canal in the near term. He stressed that the crisis over the past two years demonstrated the canal’s resilience despite declining revenues.

He expects revenues to reach 4.1 billion dollars during the current year, with greater improvement anticipated in 2026. He emphasized the canal’s full readiness to receive vessels and the restoration of services to normal.
