The International Monetary Fund slightly raised its forecast for South Korea’s economic growth in 2025 to 0.9 percent, noting that the effects of U.S. tariffs have been less severe than expected so far. It maintained its forecast for 2026 at 1.8 percent.

The Bank of Korea also raised its projection for 2025 growth to 0.9 percent, while the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) expects growth of 1 percent. According to the IMF, despite stable growth in the first half of this year, the outlook remains fragile, with risks still tilted to the downside.
