The International Monetary Fund highlighted that Qatar’s economy maintained its momentum in 2024 despite global energy market fluctuations and rising geopolitical uncertainty. The Fund stated that proactive policies and targeted reforms under the “Third National Development Strategy” positioned Qatar among the region’s most balanced and sustainable economies.
The IMF expects overall economic growth in Qatar to remain at 4 percent annually over the medium term, supported by major expansion in liquefied natural gas projects.
Qatar’s gross domestic product grew by 2.4 percent in 2024, while the non-hydrocarbon sector recorded a remarkable growth rate of 3.4 percent.
