The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) revealed that global growth is holding up better than expected. However, the full impact of the U.S. import tariff shock has not yet materialized, while investment in artificial intelligence currently supports U.S. economic activity, and reduced fiscal support is easing the economic slowdown in China.

According to the OECD, global economic growth is expected to slow slightly to 3.2% in 2025, compared to 3.3% last year, instead of the 2.9% forecast back in June. The Paris-based organization kept its 2026 growth forecast at 2.9%, since the effects of inventory accumulation are beginning to fade. Higher tariffs are expected to negatively affect investment and trade growth.
