China’s exports to the United States fell by 11.8 percent on a monthly basis in August, amid ongoing tensions between Beijing and Washington despite the declared truce within the framework of the trade war.
According to China’s General Administration of Customs, China exported goods worth USD 31.6 billion to the United States, down from USD 35.8 billion in July. The value of total shipments had reached USD 38.2 billion in June.
Chinese customs data showed that China’s export growth slowed more than expected in August, recording an annual increase of 4.4 percent, while imports rose by 1.3 percent.
