Egypt: Annual Inflation Rate Falls to 13.9 Percent

Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics showed that annual urban consumer price inflation in Egypt fell to 13.9 percent in July from 14.9 percent in June.

Food and beverage prices in urban areas declined by a total of 3 percent compared to June 2025, but increased by 3.4 percent compared to July 2024.

Monthly inflation in Egypt’s urban areas fell by 0.5 percent, as meat and poultry prices dropped by 4.9 percent, fruit by 11 percent, and vegetables by 7 percent. In contrast, bread and grain prices rose by 0.4 percent and seafood by 0.2 percent. Annual inflation has declined from a record high of 38 percent in September 2023, supported by the $8 billion financial aid package agreed with the International Monetary Fund in March 2024.
