Egypt topped North African countries in tourism revenues amid a notable increase in incoming tourists, reinforcing its status as one of the continent’s leading tourism destinations.
According to “Africa Le 360” website, total tourism revenues for Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia reached about $15.06 billion by the end of June 2025, an increase of 19.52 percent compared to the same period last year.
Morocco and Egypt were close in terms of tourist arrivals, receiving 8.9 and 8.7 million visitors respectively through the end of June 2025. However, Egypt clearly led in revenue, generating $8.05 billion in tourism income. Egypt’s tourism revenues rose by 22 percent in H1 2025, in line with a 25 percent increase in visitor numbers.
