Turkey’s annual consumer price index (inflation) fell to 33.52 percent in July, down from 35.05 percent in June.
Data from the Turkish Statistical Institute showed that the consumer price index rose by 2.06 percent on a monthly basis, while the producer price index increased by 1.73 percent. This brought annual consumer inflation to its lowest level in 44 months at 33.52 percent.
Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek revealed that “annual inflation in Turkey has reached its lowest level in 44 months, which confirms that the path of disinflation is continuing in line with targets, and that inflation by year-end will remain within the Turkish central bank’s forecast range.”
