Oil loses some momentum as markets focus on Trump's ultimatum to Russia

Oil prices eased in Asian trading on Wednesday, after rising more than 3 percent in the previous session, as investors awaited developments regarding US President Donald Trump's deadline for Russia to end the war in Ukraine.

The most active Brent crude futures contract rose 8 cents, or 0.12 percent, to $71.81 a barrel. US West Texas Intermediate crude rose 8 cents, or 0.12 percent, to $69.29 a barrel. The September Brent contract rose 18 cents to $72.69 a barrel.
