Qatar’s Trade Surplus Falls by 5.3%

Qatar’s foreign trade data showed a 5.3% year-on-year decline in the merchandise trade surplus for May 2025, bringing it down to about 16.6 billion Qatari riyals.

According to official data, Qatar’s exports were valued at around 27.4 billion riyals — a 2.3% year-on-year decrease. Meanwhile, imports into Doha rose by 2.8% year-on-year to 10.8 billion riyals.

China remained Qatar’s top trading partner in both exports and imports, with total trade reaching 7.26 billion riyals — representing approximately 19% of Qatar’s total foreign trade volume.
