China’s fiscal spending rose by 3.4% year-on-year, reaching nearly 14.13 trillion yuan (around $1.98 trillion) during the first half of 2025.
Official data released by China’s Ministry of Finance showed that spending on science and technology increased by 9.1% year-on-year. Spending on education and health rose by 5.9% and 4.3%, respectively.
Meanwhile, China’s fiscal revenues declined by 0.3% year-on-year, totaling approximately 11.56 trillion yuan in the first half of the current year.
