Syria and Jordan Agree to Expand Cooperation in All Economic Fields

The meetings of the Syrian–Jordanian Joint Ministerial Committee were held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with the participation of the President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Alaa Omar Al-Ali, and the President of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, Issam Al-Ghreiwati. During the Committee’s sessions, an expanded cooperation protocol was signed, covering multiple economic and trade fields, particularly in the sectors of industry, agriculture, digital transformation, supply, and standards and metrology. The meetings emphasized the importance of elevating bilateral relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, to support mutual development and serve the interests of both brotherly peoples.

Syrian Deputy Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Engineer Basel Abdulaziz Abdul Hanan, and Jordanian Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Dr. Dana Al-Zoubi, stressed the need to strengthen joint coordination and open new horizons for cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meetings, Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Dr. Mohammad Nidal Al-Shaar and Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Engineer Yarub Al-Qudah, signed the final session’s protocol, documenting the understandings reached.

The Syrian delegation handed over an official invitation to the Jordanian side to participate in the Damascus International Fair, reflecting the increasing momentum in communication and cooperation between the two countries. Both sides emphasized their keenness to strengthen fraternal and integrative relations and to activate mechanisms of joint action in a way that serves stability and economic advancement in both nations.
