Austria’s unemployment rate rose by 0.6 percentage points in June 2025 to reach 6.8% month-over-month, with 364,419 people registered as unemployed or enrolled in job training programs.
According to the latest data from Austria’s Public Employment Service, joblessness increased by 9.3% year-on-year in June—equivalent to about 24,500 more unemployed individuals compared to June 2024.
Vienna recorded the highest unemployment rate among Austria’s nine states, at 11.4%, significantly higher than Burgenland, which came second with 6.1%.
