Italy’s Public Debt Reaches €3.0635 Trillion

Italy’s central bank has revealed that the country’s public debt reached a new record high of €3.0635 trillion in April, marking an increase of €30.1 billion compared to the previous month.

The central bank noted that the share of public debt held by foreign entities rose from 31.9% to 32.4%. Conversely, the share held by the central bank declined by 0.3 percentage points to 20.2%. Meanwhile, the holdings of Italian households and non-financial corporations dropped slightly by 0.1 percentage points, reaching 14.3%.
