Lebanon's annual inflation rate eased to 14.2 percent in March 2025, its lowest level in five years, compared to 15.6 percent in the previous month. This decline was mainly due to the slower pace of price increases in housing and utilities categories (16.5 percent versus 18.5 percent); transportation (2.5 percent versus 9 percent); clothing and footwear (11 percent vs. 14.4 percent); and entertainment and culture (4.5 percent vs. 5 percent); restaurants and hotels (17.3 percent vs. 18 percent).

In contrast, prices continued to decline in the category of furniture, household equipment, and routine household maintenance, falling by -8.4 percent compared to -8.2 percent in the previous month. By contrast, the pace of food price hikes accelerated to 21.4 percent from 20.5 percent in February. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.4 percent in March, the lowest monthly rise in six months, compared to an increase of 0.7 percent in February.
