US President Donald Trump suspended for 90 days the additional tariffs he imposed on a number of countries that have shown a willingness to negotiate with the United States.
Trump explained that based on the fact that more than75 countries have reached out to U.S. representatives, including the Departments of Commerce, Treasury and the Office of the Trade Representative, to negotiate a solution, where they have not made any retaliation in any way against the United States, they have authorized a 90-day suspension and a significant reduction in -for-tat tariffs to 10 percent, effective immediately. But based on the lack of respect China has shown towards global markets, the tariffs imposed on China by the United States have been raised to 125 percent, and the decision takes effect immediately.
