The additional tariffs on US imports announced by President Donald Trump came into effect with China being specifically targeted, with the new additional tariffs affecting about 60 US trading partners ranging from 11 percent to 50 percent, with the exception of China, whose products are now subject to a 104 percent tax.

Comprehensive duties of at least 10 percent on imports from most of the United States' trading partners entered into force on 5-4-2025, and the highest duties related to the trade deficit entered into force today, Wednesday 9-4-2025, on more than 60 countries.

The U.S. government calculated tariffs for each country based on factors including trade deficits, subsidies, and exchange rate control.
