The Jans Henderson Global Dividend Yield Index shows that global dividends are set to increase by 6.6 percent on a fundamental basis to reach $1.75 trillion in 2024. Actual results were slightly higher than Jans Henderson's forecast of $1.73 trillion, driven by strong performance in both the U.S. and Japan in the fourth quarter of last year. Dividends increased by 7.3 percent during the last quarter of last year, calculated according to basic growth.

Europe, the US and Japan have all performed strongly over the past year, and some key emerging markets such as India and parts of Asia such as Singapore and South Korea have also seen good growth. In addition, 17 of the 49 countries on the index, including the United States, Canada, France, Japan and China, posted record dividends.
