Qatar Central Bank indicators showed that the total assets of commercial banks increased by 3.3 percent year-on-year to reach 2.04 trillion riyals in January 2025. Total domestic deposits also increased by 0.6 percent to reach about 837.3 billion riyals in January 2025. Total domestic credit increased by 3.6 percent to about 1.31 trillion riyals in January 2025. Domestic liquidity represented by the money supply (M2) decreased by 0.7 percent to reach about 729.9 billion riyals in January 2025. The local assets, which represent the largest balance of the assets of these banks, include five items: balances with banks in Qatar, domestic credit, local investments, fixed assets, and other assets.
