The Russian budget in January received 789 billion rubles ($8.21 billion) in oil and gas revenues, an increase of 16.9 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
Russia's Finance Ministry attributed the rise in oil and gas revenues to the rise in the average dollar exchange rate and gas prices. Revenues have exceeded their baseline size, as according to the socio-economic development outlook, they are expected to continue to exceed their baseline level until the end of the year.
The ministry noted that the accumulation of oil and gas revenues ensures the stability of the financial system in the face of fluctuations in oil and gas revenues.
