Oil Prices Steady Amid Anticipation of Potential U.S. Tariffs on Canada and Mexico

Oil prices stabilized in early trading on Thursday, as markets awaited potential U.S. tariffs on Mexico and Canada, the largest crude oil suppliers to the United States. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt confirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump still intends to fulfill his promise to impose tariffs on Canada and Mexico this coming Saturday.

Brent crude futures rose 7 cents, or 0.1 percent, to $76.71 a barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 17 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $72.79. U.S. crude futures settled at their lowest level this year on Wednesday.
