Morocco became Africa's most visited destination in 2024, with the country welcoming 17.4 million visitors, according to official data. This figure officially gave Morocco an edge over Egypt, Africa's tourism leader, which also broke its record for arrivals with15.7 million visitors in 2024.
The figure in tourism in Morocco represents a staggering jump of 20 percent compared to 2023 and an increase of more than 33 percent from pre-2019 levels when the country welcomed 13 million visitors, making it achieve its target two years ahead of target.
Morocco expects to welcome 26 million tourists by 2030, when the country will host the World Cup jointly with Spain and Portugal.
