China's exports grew faster than expected in December as factories scrambled to meet orders amid uncertainty over trade tariffs that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump might impose.

China's exports grew a record 10.7 percent last month from the same period last year, beating expectations of about 7 percent. Imports also exceeded expectations, growing by 1 percent.

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to impose 10 percent tariffs on Chinese goods and close some loopholes that exporters currently use to sell their products cheaper in the United States.
