Oil at Highest Level as Russia's Exports are Affected by US Sanctions

Oil prices hit their highest level in more than three months, continuing to rally on expectations that heavy sanctions will affect Russian crude supplies to China and India, the world's largest and third-largest crude importers. Brent crude futures rose $1.35, or 1.69 percent, to $81.11 a barrel, after hitting an intraday high of $81.44, the highest since Aug. 27.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose $1.40, or 1.83 percent, to $77.97 a barrel after touching a high of $78.32, the highest price since Oct. 8.
