Qatar Central Bank's international reserves and foreign currency liquidity grew to QAR 254.7 billion (November 2024), up 4.1 percent year-on-year. The official reserves of the Qatar Central Bank grew to reach 195.7 billion riyals in November 2024, up 5.3 percent year-on-year. This rise was supported by an increase in balances with foreign banks by 15 percent, to reach $ 5 billion, against a decline in gold holdings by $ 380 million, to reach $ 9.44 billion. Qatar's foreign reserves account for 77 percent of the total public debt and have met the financing needs of the Gulf state's merchandise imports for more than 25 months.
